An important role is given to the Council of Europe, a key intergovernmental European organization that aims to protect human rights, pluralist democracy and the rule of law.
Senior lecturers are drawn from both institutions to support students develop solid, factual knowledge and to develop analytical skills leading to the formulation of their own views on these institutions.
The study trip to Brussels provides the opportunity for students to visit various European institutions, e.g. the European Social and Economic Committee. The two day stay in Strasbourg includes a visit to the European Court of Human rights amongst other interesting visits in the city. During the study trips, students get first hand information through lectures from high-ranking officials on a European level. Of course students will get a unique chance to explore these interesting European centers too.
