Student life

WELCOME TO MACESS, WELCOME TO MAASTRICHT, WELCOME TO EUROPE!

Teaching the modules will take place in the city of Maastricht a beautiful and historic location in the south of the Netherlands, on the Belgian border.

A truly International city!

The 120,000 inhabitants are used to living in a city with two universities and many foreign students. Students will find it easy to speak English with shop assistants, waiters, medical staff or anyone else. The city’s geographical location, near Germany and Belgium (with which the city shares its borders) has only added to the international appeal of the city’s population. As the oldest city of the Netherlands, Maastricht is a popular destination not only for its historical inner city, which dates back to the Roman era, but also for its vibrant night life, its shopping district, and its international student culture.

A  Student city!

Maastricht, built on the bank of the river Maas, offers everything from rich culture, to challenging nature. The city’s theatres, museums, sports centres, (University) libraries, restaurants and a highly developed continental café culture seem to be custom made to cater to the student population. As a student you will profit from the use of many of these services with a huge discount.

Your gateway to Europe!
As the site of the 1992 treaty establishing the European Union, Maastricht provides a perfect vantage point for students wishing to explore Europe. In addition to fantastic, scenic bicycle routes, Maastricht has an excellent public transportation system with trains and busses leaving regularly to cities like Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, London, and Cologne. The international train station and the nearby airport open the way to the whole of Europe.
